From 20 to 22 October 2026, Mateusz Cieśliński, co-founder of AppWave, will be in Taipei for TAITRONICS and AIoT Taiwan. AppWave is a software company from Łódź, Poland. We want to meet companies from Asia that plan to sell or operate in Europe, and talk about the software, AI and EU rules they will need there.

The trip was co-financed under the project „Kierunek Azja – umiędzynarodowienie działalności przedsiębiorstw z województwa łódzkiego poprzez udział w wydarzeniach targowych i ekspansję na rynki azjatyckie” (Direction Asia: internationalisation of businesses from the Łódzkie region through trade fairs and expansion into Asian markets), co-financed by the regional programme European Funds for Łódzkie 2021-2027.
When and where?
- Dates: 20-22 October 2026. Open 10:00-17:00 on 20 and 21 October, 9:30-15:00 on 22 October.
- Venue: Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1 (TaiNEX 1).
- Organisers: TAITRA (Taiwan External Trade Development Council) and TEEMA (Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association).
- Theme: "Edge Intelligence Now", meaning AI that runs on the device itself, not only in the cloud.
This is the 52nd TAITRONICS and the 9th AIoT Taiwan. In 2025 the show had 250 exhibitors, 460 booths and 8,000 trade visitors from 60 countries (TAITRA, October 2025). Details are on the official website.
Why is a software company going to an electronics show?
Because hardware needs software to sell in Europe.
Many companies at TAITRONICS make excellent devices: sensors, controllers, cameras, embedded boards. To sell them to a factory in Germany or a retailer in Poland, they usually need more than the device. They need an app or a web dashboard for the customer. They need integrations with the customer's systems. And they need to handle data in a way that follows EU law.
That is the part we build.
Why work with a partner in Poland?
- You build inside the EU from day one. Poland is an EU member state. A product built here is designed for EU rules, not adapted to them later.
- The working day overlaps. Taipei is 7 hours ahead of Poland in winter and 6 hours ahead in summer. Your afternoon is our morning.
- Taiwan and Poland are working closer together. On 24 June 2026, at Taiwan Expo in Europe in Warsaw, Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs and Poland's National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR) signed a memorandum on industrial innovation and R&D cooperation, with the first joint call planned for 2027. TEEMA is preparing a technology park of at least 150 hectares near Wrocław (Polish Investment and Trade Agency, 23 June 2026). Taiwan's Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung called Poland "an excellent gateway for Taiwanese companies to enter the European market" (Taipei Times, 14 October 2026).
What can we do together?
We call our role a gateway to Europe. In practice it means four things:
- We build the software. Web applications, customer dashboards, API integrations (connections between systems), AI agents and process automation. Our own team does this work. See custom software with AI.
- We bring in legal partners. We work with law firms that specialise in technology: GDPR, the EU AI Act, contracts.
- We open doors in Central and Eastern Europe. We know suppliers in the region and can introduce you when you need something outside our scope.
- Or simply a software project. You can also hire us as a regular software house, the same way our clients in Poland do.
How we work: in small stages you can check along the way. At the end, the working solution belongs to you. We build with you, not for you.
What do EU rules mean for your product?
Two regulations matter most for software and AI.
GDPR. If your product processes personal data of people in the EU, GDPR applies, even if your company is outside the EU.
The EU AI Act. It has applied generally since 2 August 2026, including the transparency duties in Article 50. Regulation (EU) 2026/1744 moved most obligations for high-risk AI systems to 2 December 2027 and 2 August 2028. The Act covers AI systems placed on the EU market, wherever the provider is based.
To be clear about our role: we are not a law firm and we do not give legal advice. Our legal partners do that, each within their own scope. We build the technical side, for example data flows, logging and user notices, so that it matches what your lawyers decide.
How do we start a conversation?
- Send us one short message before or during the show. Tell us what your product does and which European country you are thinking about.
- Meet Mateusz in Taipei, at the show between 20 and 22 October. If the dates do not work, we can talk online.
- First call: we listen. Then we suggest one small first step with a clear scope and price, so you can judge us on real work.

The mission includes B2B meetings and study visits in Taipei. Poland also has a national pavilion at the show, organised by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP).
Questions & Answers(FAQ)
From 20 to 22 October 2026 at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1, in Taipei, Taiwan. AIoT Taiwan runs at the same time and place. TAITRA and TEEMA organise both shows.
AppWave is a software company from Łódź, Poland. We build custom software, AI agents and process automation for businesses. You own the result.
Yes, on the technology side, and together with legal partners for the legal side. We build the software your product needs for European customers and connect you with lawyers who specialise in GDPR and the EU AI Act.
It can. The AI Act applies to AI systems placed on the EU market, wherever the provider is based. A lawyer should confirm how it applies to your product.
Write to us at office@appwave.dev before the show and we will agree on a time and place in the hall. If you cannot be in Taipei, we can talk online.
